Do you ever feel like blah?

It's like all of his energy is sapped and for reasons unknown to you, you can not not do anything about it. For some, what happens in odd day here and there, but for others it is an experience almost every day. I am in the first category. I have a BLAH day and then what follows the next day, invariably, is an explosion of energy that apparently is equal to three days of effort and achievement. How is this so?
Fluctuation morale and motivation. Who can tell what gives here? If we know and can do something about it, then we should. Our conscience (and our conscience) is being aware that for some reason. Listen and implement everything they're saying, if not today, because you're feeling BLAH, then tomorrow should do. Just do it sometime soon.

I believe that now - BLAH. There is a lack of sleep, or a lack of spirit, or lack of energy per se. This is where the willpower comes into play. Will you make the next thing. Just start. Use your brain to process movements that are required. Move your arms and legs despite what is not going to power over them. His influence will be held soon and suddenly you are congratulating you a little job well done (or at least do).
Will is our source of mental energy - is a decision to act. It comes from disciplined thinking. They are thinking about what is right and just and equitable, and then using mental processing power.
If you have a problem with procrastination, just do something. Then do one more thing, and then another and another. Soon, the job is done!

Claims that work

Today I would like to share with you ideas into something known as the Law of Attraction. It is widely spoken in The Secret, and successfully millions of people around the world know and use the Law of Attraction to generate the level of success they desire.
The Law of Attraction is basically a law of the universe, similar to gravity. Gravity happens if you cree or not - if you throw something in the air, it's going to fall down due to gravity. The Law of Attraction is attracting about things that you think - if you're constantly thinking of negative things that are going to attract more negativity in his life. On the other hand, if your thoughts are predominantly positive - will be experiencing situations positive and good additional opportunities will present themselves to you. You attract similar things.
That said, you can use positive affirmations to help attract the kind of things in your life you want and experience. It is important that their claims are credible for you, and you say to them at this time. In other words - you have to talk as if it has already become a reality in order to work.

If you want to be free of debt and a millionaire, is not good to tell yourself "I'm going to be a millionaire debt free." What will happen is by the time you said that it "will be" free of debt and a millionaire, will simply be on their way to that stage. You never really get there, since they are only "going to be."
Instead, his claims need to focus on what you want, as if it has already occurred in his life. You might say: "I am a millionaire debt free" as many times a day as you could, for as many days as you could, until it became true. The trick is you have to believe it. As you believe it is, who is in the frequency and transmission of vibration in the universe that will attract situations that are on the same wavelength. Opportunities begin to submit to you that you can then take action and become one step closer to its goals.
If you are having trouble believing his claims, you may have to start with qualifiers. In other words, if saying "I am a millionaire debt free" when you thousands of dollars in debt with no assets is not convincing, start with something like "Now I am ready to accept that I am now in the process of becoming a debt free millionaire. " It is long, but if you feel better to say about it, that is important because the Law of Attraction works in their feelings.

Release the reality

Birth mothers and adoptive parents often do not like to hear what I have to say. I suppose hear what could happen to your child is frightening. I do not blame them. If I have seen some future experiences of mine, I would be scared too.
My first attempt at suicide was when I was 14 years. The other attempts came to my 20, when finally achieve the strength and courage to make life and death on the table. If the death was going to be elected; commit and end things. If life is elected; commit and never go to the option of death again. Life was elected and at night face my demons physically eye to eye and told them that no longer serves a purpose in my life and never allow me screaming me-me to take.
See, as an adopted internal pain is so deep and painful it is not surprising statistics are high for suicide and substance abuse among adopted.
With the system constantly protecting the biological mother, once more that are rejected to know our origin. Not to mention the media portrays us as self-absorbed people who are trying to create chaos in our parents, when everything that finding a relationship or understanding from where it began.
Why do you want society to keep constantly in the dark? Why win the secrets and lies along the integrity, forgiveness, understanding and compassion? Life is not fairy tail, nor does it have a happy ending, we all have to die someday and pending birth and death, in which we live. Why is like an adopted since they were introduced into this world, our lives and the way we live - is decided by us? "You have no right to file his birth," which translated means "you do not have a right to know who you are." "You can not find her mother, she is protected by law." Why everyone has a beginning and an end and only have a sorta thing, but it really does not begin with an ending that does not know very well because we are not so much to our medical information that could contain important to details about our genetics, but because our right to know where we come from is illegal - to continue living in the mysterious cloud of uncertainty.

And when / if you do locate her mother, she often found to keep you from knowing the truth. Is it not surprising that the pain of rejection, abandonment, lies and secrets prevail in the deep dark abyss of our being. How can it be ignored?
This hard to see the reality is called education. I get tired of hearing about adopted I knew taking his life because they can not cope or do not know how to treat or not supported in how to deal with.
Why forgiveness can not be replaced by anger and fear? With access routes to cure, such as books, workshops, web pages and therapist specializing in adoption, there is no excuse for the lack of self-education any longer.
It's time to grow up, stop playing the victim in our situation and take the wonders of life. I had a crazy-solving life, however, I was tired of being unhappy constantly by my own volition. Step; make a difference in your own life. Find forgiveness from you and others. Take responsibility for your own actions - finding love for yourself first. Be happy and grateful for the experiences that have led to this moment. Embrace being taken and find ways to help others through their life experiences. As selfish as it sounds, to help you with your problems. Absorb and educate you about the adoption issues flying around your mind and soul to help stop the past and move forward. Nobody is alone in this process. All have felt and trafficking in similar situations.
Making the conscious choice to be free and build his own foundation, with or without the help of "knowing". It is entirely up to you, your choice.
As disconnected as we may feel, we are one. We are survivors who promote change. Help Yourself, helping others. Being a leader in his life, not a follower.

My Motivation - An Ode To Teaching

I never feel so strong and confident as when I'm helping kids to find their own strength and confidence. That's my motivation with Operation Pull Your Own Weight.
In a very real sense it's selfish. I'm doing it because I feel so good about myself when I'm doing it. The vibes of appreciation I receive when those kids get stronger and stronger, week after week, and more and more confident in their own natural abilities to set a goal and achieve it in small but relentlessly persistent increments of progress is unique in my life. Under these circumstances, I suddenly feel like Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Indiana Jones, Wyatt Earp, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods, and Elvis all combined in the eyes of these kids. I am unique in their lives.
If I Got This Kind of Lift From...

If I got the same kind of lift from climbing some corporate ladder, from running for public office, or from anything else, I'd be climbing a corporate ladder, running for public office, or doing something else that gives me the same amount of return on my investment of time and effort. But to date, nothing else compares.
There's no thrill of victory like the one I experience when seeing a young boy or girl learning to say "Oh yes I can," in the face of a real challenge, tackling it with unreserved enthusiasm, giving it 110%, having learned, and knowing in their heart of hearts that if they relentlessly persist, they will inevitably cross that finish line.
In the words of the late Winston Churchill, "Never, never, never, never, never, give up!" Not quitting is one very important form of winning. It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that counts.
The Moment The Catch Their First Glimpse...

And the moment a child catches their first glimpse of the potential sitting out there on their own horizon, as long as they get a little stronger every week, every month, every year, is the moment they start approaching life in a different way, with a different attitude, with an excitement and an enthusiasm that was never there before. Let's just say, "For most everything else there's Master Charge."
And by the way, when I say kids, I'm talking about kids from 3 to 93. The fact of the matter is, when you help someone become stronger and more confident, no matter how old they are, you will have created a relationship that's unique. There aren't that many people in anyone's life who produce that kind of experience. And if you're one of them you will stand out from the crowd. You will hold a unique position in the life of that person, whether they're an elementary school student, or a rock and roll star.
The Clock Keep on Ticking

So in answer to all those folks who have wondered why the OPYOW clock keeps on ticking inside me, it's because doing it makes me feel so good about me. To repeat my original statement, I never feel so strong and confident as when I'm helping kids to find their own strength and confidence. So there, I've said it out loud. If that were not the case, I'd be unable to persist. The flame would flicker and die. But it has not and now you know why. It's all about me and how it makes me feel about myself.

Controlling Your Mind Power - No Need To Worry About Failure

There is no failure gene in your DNA, so there is no need to worry about it. Just imagine, your mind is a goal-seeking, goal-achieving part of you, and it carries out those operations in a machine-like manner. You can never fail in your efforts to master the power of your mind, but you must persist.
Here is why. The portion of your mind that we are referring to here has as its sole responsibility seeking out and achieving the goals you direct it to seek out and achieve. That is all it does, day and night. It never rejects or counters any of your directions.
Please do not confuse the goal-seeking, goal-achieving area of your mind with the self image. This goal-seeking, goal-achieving area never argues whether your directions are for your good or not. It never moralizes your directives to it. It simply accepts your directions, achieves what you direct, and brings it into your physical world.
"If this is true," I hear you ask, "why am I getting so many unwanted things in my experience? Surely I did not direct my mind to bring this stuff to me." I would have to agree with you to a point. You probably did not consciously direct your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind to bring a shortage of money, illness or other misfortunes into your life.
However, when was the last time you consciously gave ANY directive to your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind? Do you ever remember doing it? When was the last time you paid conscious attention to what you are consistently thinking all day and all night? Have you ever done such analysis?
If you are like I was and like most people are, you probably have never paid much attention to what you are thinking on a daily basis over an extended period of time. Your mind is likely running on automatic pilot, with the exception of the few times you are shaken into awareness to deal with some urgent matter.

What is your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind doing when you leave your mind to run on automatic pilot? Well in the absence of your consciously giving it goals (directions), it simply analyzes its subconscious surroundings for the most emotionally charged goals it has achieved for you before (whether wanted or unwanted).
Whether you previously gave conscious directives to it to materialize those goals is of no importance to it. It selects them, based on your state of being and delivers the associated conditions to you.
There may be hundreds or even thousands of those pre-set conditions in your subconscious mind awaiting a signal to join forces with the goal-seeking, goal-achieving portion of your mind to produce the experiences with which they are associated.
The point of all of this is that you are now in possession of the only fool-proof, fail-safe, and perfect success system in existence, your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind! Your task, if you choose to accept it, is to clearly communicate to it what you desire to experience.
This I know for sure. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin controlling your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

The Butterfly Effect - You Can Make A Difference

I received an email this morning from a dear friend about the horrors going on in Burma. The deadly Cyclone has already killed up to 100,000 Burmese, and has left tens of thousands more in imminent danger of death from hunger and disease. Although the world has responded with emergency supplies and aid, the Burmese military regime is blocking all efforts to get relief to the people. Burmese Buddhist monks, prominent and student leaders, and others, have issued a public appeal for the UN to stop waiting for permission from the Burmese military regime. This email was a plea to click on a link that sends a letter of appeal to the Chinese UN Ambassador to use their power to apply pressure to persuade the Burmese government to allow the UN to move in and immediately dispatch relief.
As I read more about the disaster, both natural and political, I found myself feeling overwhelmed, flat out helpless . . .not knowing where to begin. I began to feel a separation of my world and theirs; a sort of disconnect from the reality of the people of Burma. I began to feel small and helpless and fragile. How can I possibly help and how to begin...? I clicked on the petition... to try to feel like I'd done something effective with my mouse and moved on. But, I was left feeling like it wasn't enough this time.
So, how then? How do we begin to help the world in crisis? How do we start to address the huge problems, the massive disasters that show themselves in the media everyday? How do we start to become helpful and effective without bringing the burdens and anger into our own daily lives?
And then, I remembered one of my favorite quotes:

"Let him that would move the world, first move himself."

So simple and so right. Just move... begin. DO what you have been intending to do in your life. Everything. This might sound trivial, but just the exercise of YOU moving... will begin a snowball, a world wide butterfly effect.
The term Butterfly Effect derives from science. The idea is that tiny changes within a complex system lead to big results that are impossible to predict. So, in layman terms, the flap of a butterfly's wings could create tiny changes in the atmosphere that lead to high winds somewhere else on the planet. A tiny movement here... creates a landslide over there. And so it is with your actions; a small accomplishment here... could cause a huge positive movement over there.
A butterfly in the Amazon flaps his wings because he has to... unaware of his effect. We have the ability to flap our wings with purpose. So begin now... today. Put intention and focus behind your actions. Commitment to what you're doing, to what you do is the key. If you're building a house, really build the house. If you are teaching children, really teach and know why you are doing it, know what you are creating. Put all of your energy into everything that you do. Even if you're just washing the dishes, really wash the dishes with a sense of purpose, a sense of the big picture. If you commit yourself to your every action, you will connect with your sense of purpose. And that sense of purpose will become your wings. It begins inside you. Your intention, your purpose to do good in your life will have a greater effect somewhere else. So everything you do... no matter how small or insignificant it may seem... will have an effect.
Take a look at your intentions. Are you doing everything that you can? Do you have a list of "to dos" that are slipping by you undone? Have you been meaning to donate your time to a cause but just haven't done it? Consider your reasons for procrastinating and begin to understand why.
Just begin to move yourself. Now. And know that your sense of purpose, your wings, can make a huge difference in this world.

Life Is What You Want It To Be

One of the things I learned throughout my college years is that you can decide who you want to be and no one can stop you. If you know how to apply the law of attraction to your life then life will go just as you want it.
In this materialistic world you can have anything your heart desires. If you just focus on what you want and throw away what you don't want then your thoughts will manifest to reality.
Don't think about what you don't want. A lot of people doubt the law because the stuff they don't want comes back to them and it's only because they think about that. When I look back at my childhood, the DVD player, the bike, the basketball, it all came to me only because I imagined that I had it. The law of attraction is amazing and with it we can literally change our lives and open up a good path for a promising future.

My plan is to become a medical doctor and I'm focusing on it constantly and I also plan to be financially secure so I'm thinking about money constantly. I want to be a great doctor as in being knowledgeable and I so I concentrate on that. I don't say "I hope" to get what I want; I say to myself "I know" to get what I want. So, it's easy and the key to it is focusing on it. I want to get into a med school so I look up the med school I want, and I focus on it constantly because I know that I will eventually get admitted to there.

How To Manage Fear

Are you in the same old place? Are you looking to have a break out year? Looking to take charge of your life? Many people start off their Networking business with great hopes but no idea what it takes to make it successful. One must understand this simple but hard truth. We are where we are in life due to the way we think and the actions we take. If you are not in the place you want to be then we MUST change our thinking and actions. We must learn to develop daily successful habits that will set us apart, especially the area of fear.
Managing Fear
I don't know of any area that might be more challenging for most of us. Highly successful people are always challenging themselves and operating out of their comfort zones. Your comfort zone got you where you are today, so if you want to expand where your at you will need to expand your comfort zone. When we try to overcome our fears by common sense and logic we usually experience limited success. Anytime the left brain (the logical side) and the right brain (the creative or imaginative side) try battle it out the right brain usually is the victor. How many times can we recall making something so big in our minds that we did anything to avoid approaching it. How about when we finally faced it? Did it turn out much easier than we expected? There is an old adage that says "action cures fear" and it is true. Action does cure fear, and the more you do something the easier and easier it gets. That is fine if we can get ourselves to that point, but that is exactly the problem- how do we get ourselves to take action? Now that question is not so easily answered, and once again I can easily write a book about this one point. Fear has many heads, it shows itself in many forms. See if you recognize any of these- procrastination, avoidance, lack of motivation, laziness, unorganized, perfectionism, not the right time, not enough knowledge, etc. These are all signs of fear, can you identify what you typically do? Anytime we try to expand ourself we increase the interaction between ourselves and others, and as we express our values and beliefs we open the door for others to reject these. So as we grow we are always going to experience feelings outside of our present comfort zone. The first thing one has to accept is that it goes with the territory, learn to embrace it.
So lets try to tackle this issue in way that we can see measurable results without writing a whole book. There are only two natural fears that we are born with, the fear of falling, and the fear of loud noises (there is some debate as to whether these are fears or reflexes). All other fears are learned. As we grew up we learned to associate feelings, emotions, and actions to certain situations. The event in itself does not have meaning we assigned it meaning; when a,b,or c happens we determined that we feel x, y or z. This could be emotional pain, physical pain, or perceived pain. It can come from a personal experience or something we witnessed happen to another person. It all comes down to how we associate the event to the outcome in our minds. We are constantly linking things and events together. We link these events together with pictures, self talk, emotions, sounds and smells. One of the first things is to realize how you associate these events together.

For most people the primary method is self talk, or pictures though we are always using a combination to some degree. Self talk can be so powerful that almost everyone I mentor discovers they use this at some level. Many people have a small voice speaking to them all the time and they don't even recognize it on a conscious level. So what we need to do is to rewire our brain and give new meaning(s) to the associations that are holding us back. This is definitely going to take some very quiet time with self reflection and self examination.
Learning to do this is actually quite easy, it is more of just becoming aware of your thoughts- the sounds, pictures, or feelings running through our mind. What is the primary mode that you use? Mine is definitely self talk, but pictures are also very powerful for me. Now think of things that make you uncomfortable, or fearful. Maybe it could be something like cold calling someone on the phone you do not know. When you recreate this in your mind, what is going on? What pictures do you see? What sounds do you hear? What emotions are you experiencing? In what parts of your body? I discovered that when I get nervous I tighten up in my chest and have very shallow breathing. Just focusing on relaxing that spot and breathing deeply helped me a great deal. At first it took a little effort, now when that recognize that feeling, I can say to myself 3, 2, 1 and it is gone. It will become that fast and easy! I started by picturing the phone in my hand while sitting on a beach in a tropical setting. I experienced it to the maximum, I could see the beach, feel the sand between my toes, feel the sun and breeze against my body, hear the sound of children playing, and the lapping of the surf on the beach and embraced the total relaxation I felt. I used self talk to congratulate myself on taking action, using positive affirmations. I then did the opposite- I pictured all the pain I could think with not making the call. I pictured myself working to I was old, fat, tired, hopeless, and alone. Pain and pleasure are the two greatest motivators we have, use both to your advantage. I do this when I am using steps 3 & 4, this is why putting up pictures and sayings are important. When I use my quiet time in the morning going over what I must accomplish for the day is when I use the exercise of closing my eyes and creating positive pictures, emotions, and self talk. I imagine just how I want that particular event to go, and see it with a positive outcome. I then do this for all my important daily events, weekly events, and life purpose. This will take less time than you expect and you will be empowered to take on the day and its challenges. I also do this just before I take action on the event. Doing this daily will lay the foundation for your subconscious mind to attract the outcomes you desire, and help you overcome your greatest fears.
1. Learn to become aware of your thoughts, feelings, emotions, self talk, etc.

2. Identify the areas that cause you the greatest tension, fear, anxiety

3. Identify what your primary mode for handling fear, like perfectionism, lack of motivation, etc

4. Get pictures, quotes and anything that has meaning hanging up where you see it everyday

5. Spend some of the quiet time in step 4, going through your daily challenges

6. Now attach positive images, sounds, pictures, emotions to the event (see a positive outcome)

7. Attach negative images, sounds, pictures, emotions if you don't take action

8. Do this for your main daily goals, weekly goals, and your ultimate lifestyle
Bottom line is this-YOUR DREAMS AND GOALS HAVE TO BE BIGGER THAN YOUR fears. Which ever one you feed the most will drive you; do you want to be driven by your fears or your dreams? Remember doing what you have always done will give you what you have always had. Doing the work will pay dividends!

Five Critical Reasons + 1, To Take Action, Whether You're Ready Or Not

By far the biggest hindrance to your success will be inaction. We can come up with all sorts of excuses for not pulling the trigger. It doesn't matter what comes out of our mouth. I want to lose weight, I want to start a business, I want to learn a language, I want to run a marathon. What are you going to do about? Fire up the computer of course!
The internet is a blessing and a curse. It provides us with so much information, that when we get an idea we can search and investigate all the information available, literally forever. We can analyze all the trends, review all the products, review all the reviews, and so on. Granted, the investigation process can be important and is technically be considered "action". But if all we do is read and study and learn, we have been caught in the whirlpool of analysis, trapped in the black hole of investigation, set adrift in the Bermuda Triangle doldrums, stuck spellbound by the magic...well, you get the idea. At some point you must commit to making the mistakes and experiencing the pain in getting to where you want to go. You must decide at some point, "am I only in love with the 'image' of being what I want to be?" or "Do I want to be it, or DO it?" The right answer is that you want to Do it. Really though, too many people are in love with the idea of being what they want to be...and then magic will happen. They'll simply continue exploring that dream, forever.
There are five critical reasons to avoid Analysis Paralysis.
1. Analysis paralysis will eventually make you lose interest in even the greatest ideas. It's like sitting through the same Power Point presentation over and over. Eventually you'll get bored.

2. The brain needs to take action to solve problems. Your brain is a super computer, that solves problems 24 hours a day (yes, while you are sleeping), but it needs up to the minute real world experiences (data) to operate effectively.
3. You will enlist more support if people know you are committed. If you say to someone "I think I'll go to Bora Bora." They'll say, "that's nice." If you stand by the door with your bags packed and the tickets in your hand, they'll say "want a ride to the airport?"
4. You'll never be totally prepared. Repeat, you will never be totally prepared. In this changing world, the circumstances you are preparing for now, most likely will have changed already.
5. You could die tomorrow having never tried. OK, that wasn't quite fair. But eventually we all run out of time. As written in the Talmud "if not now, when?"
So be bold, commit, and act. The degree of your action will indicate the depth of your commitment, and it will move your mind and spirit to overcome any obstacle that may present itself in the path to reaching your goal. So here's your Bonus Reason!
6. You'll never GET IT, if you don't DO IT! And there's probably more but I need to get this published!

How They Succeeded

I have been amazed at the rate of success and failure between brothers, sisters, relations, schoolmates, peers and the like - Even at same circumstances, environments and events. There is always a landslide between them. Some succeed so much while some fail so much. Some remain at an average quota all year around, while some keep increasing and some falling.
Who are they?? You may ask me. They are those individuals who are or were able to legally do what they wanted and when the wanted it done, who were able to scale thru the hurdles of beginnings to the top of their careers, who were able to hold onto their careers and become the best until they reach the position of both financial, emotional, spiritual and relational freedom.
I then conducted a research into the lives of most successful men around town and these are my findings:
1. The Power Of I Can
I found out that all successful men started out by believing in the power of "I CAN" They believed that they will make it in their different businesses and kept faith. They did not give up when it seemed so dim; neither did they give up when they were faced with little or great failures. They believed that they did not have no other option but to hold on. They believed in their dreams and did not allow the environment to rob them of it. I know you have a dream, just like Martin Luther King Jr. keep dreaming bigger and bigger and bigger and believe in your dreams. Then on a fateful morning, your dreams will come to manifestation.
2. The Power Of Perseverance
The second formula I got was the power of perseverance. Successful men kept on keeping on. They refused to be intimidated by failure or success. They kept reminding theirselves that they must persevere until the end of their lives. They committed all their lives to their careers and were not distracted by their environments. They focused on success. Look not at where you are coming from but focus all your attention on where you are going. Persevere, persevere and persevere!

3. The Power Of Hard Work
People like the famous world acclaimed scientist Albert Einstein, worked and worked so much that they lacked they chance to go partying with friends and neighbours and peers and mates. Their wives are not always happy about a little neglect they suffer now and then. For one to become the best in his or her career, one must always work hard, work very hard and work very very hard. Put in all your efforts, inspirations and aspirations to your work and you will meet favour in uncommon hours they say. Imagine Beethoven or Mozart practicing on their pianos more than 10 hours daily. Put in 10 to 12 of your daily breathing hours into your career and you will be amazed at the result at a long run.
4. The Power Of Integrity
People like Bill Gates remembered not to become greedy at all. Nevertheless, utilized the power of integrity at all levels of their careers and today they live to enjoy the fruits of their labour. In all your dealings with your customers and clients, never fall to the temptation of money. Try as much as possible to live above money. Do not work for the money but let the money work for you.
5. The Power of Giving
I remember the Philanthropist, Carnegie, Who single-handedly spent most of his wealth giving to the society. Or is it the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation? For you to really remain successful even after you demise, then begin to practice the power of Giving. Give to all and sundry. Give not only when asked but give liberally. Support other weaker people and support them to stand and you never know when your rewards will start coming.
This is just a tip of the iceberg. For you to become successful, you must apply all these simple formulas to the later.

People Who Throw Money Away To Show That They Have It

Monday through Friday, Joe is a disciplined worker. He's on the job bright and early, hits it hard all day, and never in a hurry to dart out the door at quitting time.
Joe is young, energetic; college educated, and enjoys his job and has, for the past 9 years. His health and stamina are excellent
Family life was good growing up, but Joe lives alone now, in a swank apartment in the right part of town and commutes back and forth to work in the latest piece of European speed-machine technology.
Always dressed in the latest Label offerings, Joe has a piece of gold wrapped around his wrist that gives him the time with a glance and catches the eyes of the ladies.
Breakfast is always at a trendy hot spot, lunch is sometimes business related, but always top-notch, and dinner is a nightly affair at the city's best restaurants.
Joe has a great life and he spends his money so that everyone can see that he is doing well, but he's not. Joe is flat broke, in fact, he's past broke. Deep in debt and commitment, Joe is treading water in a lake full of alligators.
Why do people throw their money around? The answer is complicated.
The outcome is embarrassing when money is thrown around to give the illusion of having money. The higher you live, the more it costs to maintain the lifestyle and hold up the façade.
It's even more embarrassing to give up the kind of life that you're use to. If you buy your underwear at a specialty men's boutique, going to the local discount department store just doesn't feel right. More importantly, to you, you don't want anyone to know that you wear underwear from a department store.
Five dollar coffee is more fun to buy than a fifty-cent cup. Face it, its fun to spend money. It's a special feeling. It's a feeling that Joe has become addicted to and like a junkie, he's hooked with no intention of stopping.
Every day thousands and thousands of people are spending money to feel good about themselves. Some are quick to buy the latest and greatest item to hit the shelves or the showrooms, because they work hard and they tell themselves that they deserve it.
Wealth is built slowly, but it's very hard and takes discipline not to give-in to the bombardment of advertisements telling you why you should buy, rent, lease, consume, share, indulge, pack a bag, or experience what they have to offer. You work hard and you owe it to yourself.
Wanting to set yourself apart from the commoner, you bite and bite hard. Not just an apartment, a palace that has a monthly rental higher than the GDP of a piss-poor Asian country. Great suits are, well, great, but you need three dozen of them. Do you really?
All the accessories have a price tag, but they're in your must-have mental column of success.

Day after day, you throw your money away on stuff in order to show people that you have money. Joe isn't alone is he? Of course Joe isn't alone, he's fitting in. He's got the lifestyle to go along with the perception of how he should live.
Most people in the U.S.A. have less than one thousand dollars in the bank. Most people in the U.S.A. have more than one television, more than one vehicle, and more than a handful of credit cards.
The safety net used to be a savings account that you could fall back on, now it's a thin little piece of plastic with a name, number, magnetic strip, and computer chip.
Something happens, don't pay for it; put it on one of your credit accounts. Rationalize in your mind that you are helping the economy by spending, and you are. Two-thirds of the U.S. GDP is from consumers, like Joe and you, spending money for things that in many cases, you don't need.
Throwing money away on expensive food and drink is a sure way to go broke. You can eat well while dining out, but pass on the wine list from time to time, find new spots that have atmosphere, but not over-priced entrées.
Every item in your closet does not have to be dry cleaned, steam press a suit to keep it looking sharp and give it added life. Wear quality, but base your wardrobe around certain colors, not every color and every style. Choose your style and roll with it for a while.
I just read an article about one thousand dollar haircuts; you have got to be kidding. However, there are those who need to spend that kind of money in order to feel good about themselves.
As an Investment Executive, working in the Beverly Hills office of a firm, I had some interesting clients. Although I can't mention them by name, I will tell you that the flashy dresser would come in and then drop by my office to tell me he just put a thousand dollars in his account at the firm and that I should figure out how to direct it.
On the other hand, I had a large number of clients who drove floppy-fender Buicks, wore, nice, but not expensive clothing and they would come by the office to deposit six or seven figures.
The people, like Joe, are working so hard to let the world know that they have money, when in reality all that they have is a mountain of obligations and no clear path. The wealthy people know that it takes time to become wealthy and every five dollar coffee is one step further that you walk away from accumulating real wealth.
The steps are simple and often misunderstood. Who ever said that you should live within your means is an idiot. Live thirty or forty percent below your means.
If you say that you can't do that, it's because of one of two things; you are living way to high for your income or you are not making enough money at your employment.
You can get a better job, get more education so that you can get a better job, start a business on the side while you are working full-time at your current job, come up with a better plan for your current business, or keep doing what you are doing and wind up broke at the end of the trail of life.
Do you know how much money that you spend during the course of a week? Do you spend all you have, more than you have, or more than you would like to spend?
What do you spend your money on? Write it down, make a list, keep track for just 30 days and you'll see where the leaks are and the areas of improvement will be obvious. If you don't make a list of your expenditures, you will just keep on doing what you and Joe are doing.
Writing down your expenses is magical, it will embarrass you, delight you, and make you really think about how you can cut your expenses and still live well.
A ten dollar shoe shine or a one dollar can of polish and a rag capable of one hundred shoe shines? It's your choice.
I'm not telling you how to live, I'm suggesting that you take a serious look at how you are living and at your own pace, make adjustments.
Sometimes it just takes an idea to get you invigorated and excited about the future, rather than dreading another day.
Joe lives great during the week, he should have a lot of money socked away, but his lifestyle and his weekend partying has left him absolutely obligated to get up Monday through Friday and hit it hard. This is why he's a good worker, he can't afford to lose the goose.
People have asked me in my life; how I keep coming up with ideas. I have secrets about creative thinking and I finally put pen to paper and created an easy to understand eBook about creative thinking.
It's nothing complicated, but my methods show how to think creatively to solve problems, create products, and condition your view of the world around you; seeing what others can't.
When it comes to money you have to be creative. Imagine this scenario. You get paid and you have, in your mind, three hundred dollars to spend until the next pay day on anything that you want.
You get a raise and all of a sudden you have four hundred dollars of discretionary income to get you through the week and you spend it all, even though you're making more. Then it happens; your income drops back to the three hundred dollar weekly discretionary level. What do you do? Pull out the plastic to maintain the lifestyle that you have become accustomed to, but you'll only have the money to make the minimum payments on the debt.
Month after month, when the taste of the meal is long gone, when the usefulness of the electronics that you put on your plastic, because they were on sale, become obsolete, and the clothes are no longer stylish... the debt obligation remains.
Memorize these four letters; S.T.O.P.
1) Stop torching yourself with debt obligations.
2) Take a moment to think about whether or not you really need something before you scribble your name on a paper receipt.
3) Organize your finances so that you know where your money goes rather than watching it mysteriously go out the window.
4) Practice restraint, kill the impulse buyer within.
You can be in a real financial jam and turn it around in a hurry with some discipline, a plan, and a list of what is really important to you in life.
So, the next time you see someone spending heavy, throwing their money away to show that they have it; know that they don't have it.

The Ability To Blossom

Over the years, many people have asked how to find more clarity and focus in their lives. When I've asked them what they mean by clarity, they answer:
"A clear sense of what I'm here to do, I'm not really excited about anything anymore and I want that feeling of passion or excitement back again (or to find it for the first time)".
I answer them by asking what's bothering them first. (Because the very thing we can learn from most is the lesson that continues to come back to us.) What surprises us is that our passions get bogged down by the resistance to letting our problems go. In other words, we can get stuck in a pattern of trying to the "same old thing the same old way".
Our real lesson is to allow normal life situations to teach us and give us what we need. If we "fight the flow", we're really fighting ourselves. But, when we honor the lesson, the energy inside of us opens up, (blossoms) and then we're free again to create what we really want in life.
Some of you may say:
"But, Paul, this sounds a little too "New Agey" for me".
It depends on what you REALLY want in your life. If you want life to be simple and to be in flow (great results with less effort), this may be a good time to just let go of the "old way" and move forward...
Let's look at today's theme once again,
"And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom"
What sense do you make of this wisdom? Are you prepared for the next steps in your life?
Are you ready to be more *passionate* about what you really value in your life?
Are you ready to blossom and grow?

Five Areas Of Life You Need To Master

The power to create ever lasting changes in life is deeply impacted by five areas of life which influences every one the most:
1. Emotional:
Whatever we do in life is related to some or the other reason emotionally. Have you ever thought if you want to lose weight, why you want to lose weight? Why you want to go for a complete make over or why you want to join gym? You might say to get a fit body or to look different from usually what you look, right? It is basically how you feel after you have shed that excess mass or how your body will be. That will eventually make you more attractive to others, boosting your self confidence. In short, we do everything to change the way we feel. So you are empowering those emotions which help you in achieving your maximum potential.
2. Physical:
What is the use of having all the pleasures at your disposal, but yet not able to enjoy it due to bad physical conditions. Do you get up every morning feeling excited, powerful and with a positive mindset to take on a new day? Or you feel lethargic, bored, feeling life is a curse as you have to start the day all over again? Is your current lifestyle giving you trouble? Modern day life has made us to fill our body with high fat, cigarettes, alcohol and drug addiction and sit endlessly in front of television. Thus we are digging our grave with our own teeth. Remember, without a good physical health you will never enjoy a fulfilling life you always aspired for. So mastering this area of your life, will not only make you look good but also make you feel good. You will know that you are in total control of your life, with a body that radiates confidence and makes you accomplish your desires!

3. Relationship:
As you know man is a social animal, no one wants all the success or happiness in life only for himself. Why are you wanting to change your life for better? Is it only for you? Or for your near and dear ones in whose life you want to make a difference through your contribution? I feel I have hit the right chord with you by going with the second option! So, mastering over relationships - romantic, professional, personal or social will give you unlimited resources for growth and contribution.
4. Financial:
Most people dream of retiring rich, but ultimately are dead broke by the the time they reach retirement age! Without conviction, proper planning and a workable game plan, you cannot look ahead towards financial abundance. The basic key is not just to have wealth, but changing your attitude towards it and seeing it as a means of contribution and not as the ultimate means of happiness. To have financial abundance, you must know what causes its scarcity in the first place and then develop a mindset of holding to your present wealth and from there building on it. Mastering this area will help you define your financial goals very clearly and help you see where you want to head eventually.
5. Time:
A proper and effective usage of time can act as a very thin demarcating line separating you from either success or failure. Use time in such a way that it becomes your friend and not foe. Mastering this area of life, you will learn how many people overestimate as to what they can achieve in one year and how many underestimate what they can achieve in a decade!
So these areas of your life, rather they controlling you, you start controlling them... a fulfilling and prosperous life awaits you!

Change Yourself By Raising Your Own Standards

Every individual aspires to change in life for better, as only thing constant in life is Change! A change will be of real value if it is everlasting and consistent. Many of us experience changes which last only temporary, making us feel let down and there by disappointed subsequently. Many people have there by developed a mindset unconsciously that changes are always temporary. For example, some one wanting to lose weight, finds himself/herself procrastinating doing it as he /she unconsciously knows whatever efforts he/she puts to slim down, will be only rewarded for short time.

That does not mean that one cannot develop a mentality which will help in having a an ever lasting change. These are the same changes an individual must make in order to create personal change, a company to maximize its profits and so on. The same applies to the world community which must be made to preserve the quality of life globally.
One of the things an individual should do if he sincerely wants to make an everlasting change is to raise his standards. He must change as to what he demands from himself... obviously that should be for better or in fact the best!One should write down all the things he/she would no longer accept in his/her life, things which would be no longer tolerated, and all the things which one aspired to become!
There are many examples of people who raised their own standards and acted accordingly to maintain that benchmark. History has inspiring examples of people like Henry Ford, Albert Einstein and Steven Spielberg to name a few, who went many extra miles to raise their standards. The same power exists in every individual if he/she has the courage to unleash it. So, unleash the power within and begin with the first step - changing yourself!

So Why Are You Doing What Your Doing?

Let me ask you this question. Your in Network Marketing/MLM same thing different verbiage....
WHY ARE YOU DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING?
If you don't know why you're doing what you're doing what and where is your motivation?
If you're foolish enough to think that achieving your dreams and goals is not going to come with challenges you're already doomed to fail.
Look you know it and I know it that achieving your goals takes dedication, sacrifice, hard work and persistence.
With all of that a head of you don't you think it's rather important to know why you're going to go through all that?
There's a very simple exercise you can do and I suggest you have your downline do this as well.
Take a piece of paper and write down 25 Why's, reasons if you will of why you're doing what you're doing or going to do.
But there is one catch to doing this exercise. You have to get to the core of your being. What do I mean?
I mean your whys HAVE to be compelling & empowering. Hey, it's great that you may want to have a new SUV, or a big house. So what, everyone wants that. Getting stuff is easy. Nothing wrong with it but easy.
I'll say it again "You need your why's to be powerful, motivating and empowering".
To get to your core ask yourself this question "What is my purpose for being on this planet?
Lets say you have the cars, boats, houses, and money. Now what is your motivation?
I had one of my new team members send me his whys. Eight of his whys where about how he was going to show the people that doubted him and said he would never amount to anything, that he wouldn't be successful. His motivation was showing everyone they were wrong.
That's all well end good, but not empowering or powerful. I said to him. "What if all those people you wanted to prove this too went into a spaceship never to return and you would never hear or see them again?"

Where is your motivation now?
My point is, make sure your whys are powerful and empowering. So once again ask yourself this question:
"What is my purpose for being on this planet?
You're going to need these whys more then you know. And your whys will change as you change.
There're going to be days (and believe me they'll come if they haven't already) where you're not going to be the most motivated person on the planet.
One day someone is going to upset you, or make you second-guess yourself. Something will happen (it always does) and you're going to say to yourself "Why the heck am I doing this, what's the point?"
If you don't know, the temptation of quitting is pretty high. But if you have a list of your whys that temptation will go away.
I have my whys where I can see them everyday. My whys motivate me and empower me everyday and remind me of why I do what I do.
My whys are my self-talk.
What is self-talk? It's what you tell yourself everyday. We all have a running dialogue in our heads. This dialogue can empower you or destroy you.
If you say to yourself "I'm such a loser and will never achieve anything". That's what you'll get. So don't be depressed be happy dance on the roof you're getting what you're asking for.
If you want to be a loser and achieve nothing keep telling yourself that and you'll get it. (lucky you)
If you want to achieve everything that you desire, you need to change your Self-Talk.
Sorry got off track there, back to your whys.
I have every one of my downline teammates write out their 25 whys and have them send them to me. Now I know why they're doing what they're doing, plus they're accountable to themselves and to me.
When I talk to someone in my downline and they're in that "Why am I doing what I'm doing" mood. I can pull out their 25 whys and say.
"Well Nancy you told me the reason you wanted to do this was you wanted to have the means to take care of your ailing parents"
Or
"Nancy you told me that you wanted to have the finances to send your children to the collage of their choice"
Can you see where this can help you and your downline?
That's why I am here for my downline and for others in network marketing. To let them know they are NOT alone. I'll be here for anyone as long as they are in business (mine or not).
You should be doing the same. You have the lives, dreams and goals of your downline in your hands. You have the power to help people reach these goals and dreams or the power to destroy them.

Discovering Your Personal Power - An Indian Perspective

Indian people use the Medicine Wheel to guide them in many areas of life as it is both a tool and a guide that was given to us by the Creator. Our happiness and attitudes are an important part of our lives; recognizing and using our personal power will help us succeed in all areas of life. In the Great Wheel everything is connected; all things are related.
There are two "powers" - one in the North and one in the South of the Medicine Wheel. Both powers have their place in the Wheel. When you make the effort to truly understand them, they will bring many gifts. Seek their nature and they are like weapons (spiritually speaking) wielded by the warrior.
The power of the North is one of brute strength, force and personal will. It is the most common form of power and is generally understood and accepted. The power of the South is more subtle. It is one of ease, surrender and, rather than coming from will, it comes from love. Both of these are powerful in their own right but the power of the South comes from love and is therefore closer to the source, the Creator. Love is a force that is gentle in nature but powerful and mighty.
The North and South can be viewed as "up" and "down". On a compass, North is always "up" while South is "down". In the North is found male energy (think of Father Sky or Sun), while female energy is found in the South (think of Mother Earth). Male energy bears down and female energy rises up. Perhaps there is an easier way to remember these powers. A living example of the two powers can be seen in the story of "The Oak and The Willow".

On the banks of the Great River, there lived two trees. The first was a mighty oak tree. The oak tree was tall and given to bragging about just how strong he was. He would look at the willow and think, "How weak and soft she looks. So unlike my own powerful stature."
The willow for her part would sway gently and comfortably letting the oak tree say and believe what he wanted. He was, after all, very strong.
One day the wind began to blow. As the day went on, the wind blew harder and harder, and all of the creatures who could take cover did so. The wind raged on, growing stronger.
The willow bowed humbly to the wind's power, but the oak tree remained stiff and resisted the force of the wind until he was snapped in two!
After the wind had quit blowing, the willow said to the oak, "Mighty brother, had you only known that to meet force with resistance is to create a greater force - and in that force, something must give."
Every warrior must learn there is great strength in surrender. If he does not surrender, he will be broken like the oak tree.
In a piece of art entitled "Winter Man's Marriage", I illustrated the powers of the North and the South. You will see how I expressed the "male" and "female" energies. We all have both of these energies within us. The key is to learn how and when to use them, which is why we must learn of their natures. The buffalo is a symbol of the "gifts" that are found in this learning as the buffalo is considered to be the "gift animal" of the people. Women must learn the power of the male as she is the one who gently guides this power. Men must learn there is great power in surrender and being kind and gentle.
May you find the gifts in this and walk with these understandings, and may all the Creator's blessings be yours.

Winning through Giving - Give Intelligently to Create a Better Business, Family and Marriage

Many people say that we should give freely to others. However, giving freely can cause great problems in some situations. For example, many parents give freely to their kids and don't require them to give back. These kids tend to become spoiled, dependent, difficult to handle, and have a lesser chance to succeed in life. We need to focus on giving intelligently. Then we can give freely. Here are 5 tips to help us give intelligently.
Tip 1 - Give some thought and planning about the recipient to whom you are going to give.
Many people think that it's all about giving freely. No! Give Intelligently. When you give intelligently, you choose the people you will give freely.
You probably would not want to give to the criminals who prey upon people. However, there are certain heroic people who give wholeheartedly through their volunteer work in prisons.
One such example is a friend of mine who gives unrestrainedly to people who have a criminal past. He is a trainer who works with the prison population. He gets very good results in helping prisoners to change their thinking to a positive and constructive mindset. With this new mindset, they are more likely to have a more constructive life while they are still in prison and also when they get out in the world again.
You may also want to give freely to those who value what you have to offer. It can be upsetting to give to someone who does not really value what you give. This is especially true in families in which parents give too much to their children - a practice that is destructive to the children's future. Spoiled children take parents for granted and typically do not value what is given to them.
On the other hand, giving to someone who truly values and appreciates your skill and attention can be a total pleasure.

Tip 2 - Give something that is beneficial to the recipient.
For example, is what you are giving going to empower the recipients, or make them dependent on you? If it makes them dependent on you, you will end up weakening them. Steve is concerned that he is not really helping his friend Larry when he does Larry's job for him in their business. Steve is a very able negotiator in his job at a law firm. Larry is new on the job and is having some anxiety about using his unproven negotiation skills.
Steve offers to help Larry by doing some negotiations for him. Steve is very skilled. Larry just sits back and lets Larry do the whole negotiation time after time. After awhile, Steve realizes that he is not really being of help to Larry, but is accomplishing the opposite. Larry is becoming dependent on Steve. Each time he does the negotiation for Larry, Larry becomes more and more unsure about his ability to negotiate.
Finally, Steve suggests that he will do part of the negotiations and Larry will do the other part. Over time Steve will do more and more of the negotiation until he is doing the whole negotiation on his own.
Now Steve is truly helping Larry by teaching him to become self-sufficient. Eventually Larry becomes one of the top negotiators of the law firm.
Tip 3 - Identify what you really like to give to others.
If people repeatedly ask you to do things for them that you dislike doing, you are going to end up unhappy about giving those things. You might feel like a martyr about it and not only feel unhappy, but make the other person feel unhappy because of your misery. In addition, the quality of your giving is likely to suffer if you do not like what you are doing.
This is especially true of many marriages in which a spouse gives in to their mate, and feels obligated to do things they don't want to do. An example is a marriage where both spouses work, yet the husband insists that the wife does all of the cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the kids.
Tip 4 - Make sure what you are giving is wanted by other people.
If we are giving something to people that they don't want it could be a waste of time. For example, we might give of our time to do favors for people thinking we are doing it for their own good. Yet, it is something they never wanted. Or we may feel that we have an obligation to give something to certain people, but what we are giving them is not what they want.
Tip 5 - Ask others to give something back to you or to someone else.
Keep in mind that it weakens people to take and not have an opportunity to give back. You are giving a gift when you teach people to give back. They can either give back to you or to someone else. There is nothing wrong with encouraging the recipients of your giving to give back.
The question may come up - How about giving to charity? Don't we give to charitable organizations without any thought of return? Not necessarily. There are some charities, such as Habitat for Humanity, which encourage or even require the recipient of the benefits to participate and give something back.
Remember, put intelligence in the process of giving. This will allow you to give freely - a sure formula for success in business, family, and marriage.

How Many Times Have You Heard "I Can't"?

"I can't afford it right now..."
"I can't help you..."
"I can't figure this out..."
It seems that more and more people are limiting themselves. By them saying they can't, they are basically throwing up their arms.
They are making excuses.
You know, that's all can't is.
It's an excuse!
Rather than find a way to make something happen, they say "I can't". Saying "I can't" is so much easier, but is it really? I would disagree.
I'll explain in just a minute.

There can be many reasons for saying the "I can't" words. It can be fear of change...lack of interest...denial...feeling of not being in control. Whatever the reasons could be, saying and living the "I can't" mentality can truly affect you.
Try this exercise out the next time your customer or potential client says "I can't":
1. Probe that person and find out why they are telling you they can't. Do this for every time they say those words.
2. Anytime someone says they can't, ask them, "Well, how can you?"
3. Every time you propose a question, don't use the words 'can'. Instead replace it with 'will'.
Not only will you get your mind off limiting yourself or theirs, you will also help the client and yourself understand their real concern. Hopefully for your sake, it means getting a new client or getting a customer to agree to do something that they are capable of doing.
So, saying "I can't" is easy but, as you can see, it does affect your life and your business.

When Life Gets Difficult, Don't Be Afraid To Make Mistakes

What's wrong with being wrong?
When people make mistakes, they always seem to be agonizing over it. Why was I so stupid? How could i have overlooked it? Often, such questioning of your own abilities inflicts high damage on your self-confidence and work attitude, thus resulting in even more mistakes made. The cycle of suffering continues. But... it need not be this way. You have the ability to change your life, only if you want to. There is a positive side to making mistakes too.
Why having mistakes is a good sign
Making mistakes prevents you from developing a sense of complacency. When you know from the start you are prone to making mistakes, you will be cautious in whatever you do.
Many people have heard of the great basketball player Michael Jordan. Despite of his fame, this was his response: "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
Because no one is infallible, you will be more sensitive to the needs and the feelings of other people. When you see others making mistakes, you will also be constantly reminded not to do the same.

To err is human. The fact is no matter how careful you act, you will eventually make a mistake somewhere. But it's not the end of the world yet. It's never over until you really believe it's over. Keep trying, and don't give up.
Life is a journey through high and low bumps, so if you stop walking because you encounter a high slope, then you'll never get to feel the breeze from walking down from the top of the high slope.
Making mistakes also allow you to question and identify your values constantly. What really defines you? For the sake of your loved ones, what kind of man do you want to be?
No matter how you evade or escape from it, the problem will always be there. Ok, so you made a mistake - Remember it and move on. If you never accept that there's a problem, you'll never be able to solve it directly. So, your life is difficult. Accept it, and then get over it. Many people failed precisely because they do not admit their faults, and thus never get the chance to improve themselves. Do you want to repeat their path? The choice is yours.
To sum it up with a quote from former Vice-President of the United States Dan Quayle: The question in life is not whether you get knocked down. You will. The question is, are you ready to get back up... And fight for what you believe in?

The Secrets of Life

If somebody was to ask your age, you would probably say 62 years unless you were completely anal and said 62 years, 2 months, 10 days, 3 hours, 4 minutes, and 12 seconds.
My question to you is "What is it that is 62 years old?" because your body is comprised of atoms that were created in the big bang some 20 billion years ago. The laws of physics state quite categorically that no matter can be created or destroyed, only changed. This means that the material that comprises your body is actually some 20-billion years old!
On the other hand, when you look in the mirror and see your magnificent self the body you see today is not the body that was here last year this time. Once again those imbecilic scientists tell us that 99.9% of our body cells are replenished each year. Therefore, each year when you admire yourself in the mirror on your birthday you are looking at somebody that wasn't here last year.
So, back to my question, "What is it that is 62 years old?"
The scientists are like a dog with a bone, and not leaving it at telling us we are 20-billion years old in one breath and less than a year old in the next breath, they also tell us that our DNA does far more than store the template that creates your body exactly as intended. They freely admit that they understand less than 1% of exactly what DNA does hold, but this does not stop them from theorizing and postulating further thoughts. Thoughts we ordinary mortals take as facts, because of their impeccable source.
The next pearl of wisdom they dispensed is that all our thoughts, actions, and experience gained from the moment of conception to this moment, are not stored in our brains at all. They are actually stored in the DNA of each and every cell of our body!
This last piece of information is wonderful, because it explains how the lunatic in Ward 6 of your local mental institution who thinks he's Napoleon probably has part of his DNA intermingled with his own, and is as sane as you or I. Furthermore, I'm afraid that Shirley McLaine has not lived many different lives, but she simply has considerable DNA from her ancestors; together with a vivid imagination.

So there we have it, everything that is you is stored in your DNA and passed on to future generations each time you help create a baby. Sadly, no sooner is your body declared dead than your relatives will rush to bury or burn it-destroying your DNA for ever-before they hasten to your wake in order to read your will in great hope, get highly merry on your booze, and lie to each other about what a wonderful person you were.
Far better if they could each store some of your DNA until such times as our scientists unlock the 99% that still defeats them and enable the world to share your every thought and experience.
But I digress. Let us return to that mirror you look-in each day. The reason you appear like you do, my friend, is because since birth you have been unconsciously moulding your body on what you see around you. At school, you probably looked up to some athletic senior student and wished your pre-pubertal body could look like that. You were probably also influenced by your parents and close relatives, which is why people today may remark how much you look like one or other of them.
Have you ever seen a couple who have been married for decades and have steadily grown to resemble each other? There are even instances of people who have grown to resemble a dog they have lovingly petted and groomed each day for many years. You see, what you look at in the mirror each day is what you have been creating steadily and remorselessly each and every day. Whether it has been influenced by others in childhood-a most important time in our bodily development-or later in life, you have become the person you see each and every day. That's confusing, so let me try and explain.
When you look in the mirror at yourself, what you see and think create you. If you have other people that you see constantly at home or work, you may find part of them in what you see in the mirror.
You don't have to look that way at all.
You can fat, thin, tall, small, handsome, or even beautiful. It is really and totally up to you. Amazingly, without an operation, without exercise, and with very little energy you can still become the person you would really like to be!
The scientists tell us that everything can be changed. The DNA in each of your billions and trillions of body cells has been instructed to create you by two things:
1. The original DNA template you were born with, and
2. The changes in the DNA from your life experiences.
This simply means that you are what you think about. The scientists have more or less proven, in their inimitable way, that you can change how you look simply by thinking and believing you can. Your current thoughts are stored in your DNA and will eventually change your DNA, which in turn changes your body. Simple, isn't it.
Let me put it even more simply.
If you find a photograph of yourself, which is how you would like to look once again, have it enlarged and copied many times. Cover every mirror in your home with the image of the person you are going to become; cover the ceiling in your bedroom and the walls around the house.
Finally, believe that you are gradually changing into this young, virile, athletic person. If you believe, truly believe and have faith, you will change-and you will change far quicker than you might expect.
I look forward to meeting with you on your impending visit, but do not be alarmed if you are accosted by a handsome 25-year old man who shakes you by the hand and declares to be me-I am making fine progress with my transition. On the other hand, if you see a kiddie in diapers wondering around asking for you, please take care of him because it means I've overdone it-as usual!

Living According to Your Values, Valuing Your Life Accordingly

Have you seen the movie "the Secret"? Many people rave about it, and partly for very good reasons., look at current results you have created in your life or business, both positive and negative. Realise in all honesty that you have created these results by your values hierarchy. And if you think some of the results were outside your sphere of influence, then realise in all honesty that you have created the response to these results through your values hierarchy!: have a close look at how you would like your results to be. If some of your current achievements aren't the way you want them, ask yourself: what DO I want?: what values would you need to have in that specific area to start creating the results you desire? More business nous? More family time? Looking after your health a bit more? Improving communication skills? Find the values and put them into a hierarchy.: start living according to your new values more than you do to your old ones. What will you do differently? What actions are more in line with your new hierarchy?
It's a great movie if you want to get some insights into how our brains actually operate on a -let's call it- creation level. It is sometimes said that "it's all in our minds", and I believe that to be true. Reality = Perception of Reality, and perception makes reality subjective, makes it our creation. The Secret teaches us that we, within our own perceived reality, are able to create whatever it is we want, as long as we put attention, energy and focus on our desires.
The speakers in the Secret are right. Over the years, I have been teaching my clients similar fool- and fail-proof techniques on how to do it: create a life and/or a business which is their conscious choice. The techniques are easy and simple, just as life is easy and simple (trust me: the more you work with this "stuff", the more you realise that life really is easy and simple. It's us that make it seem complicated...)
The Secret forgets to mention one thing, though: the fact that you are already perfectly and exactly creating the life and business you want. Right now!
But hang on a minute, you may say: there things that are absolutely not working in my life at the moment! How come you say I am creating "perfectly"? There's nothing perfect about it!

Well, here is a statement for you to chew on: as far as value system is concerned, you ARE leading a life and/or running a business in perfect creation. You may not like all the results, though.
Confused already? Alright, here's a brief explanation.
We live our lives by our values. Our values are the things that are most important to us in our lives, certain experiences we choose over others. To give you an example: if you really value your family life, you may choose family over career. Or if you value health more than you do finances, you may spend more money on health related items than you will on saving for later.
Makes sense, doesn't it?
Realise that no value system is better than another. They are just different.
Once I know what a person's values are, I can virtually predict what that person is going to do in any given situation: s/he will decide according the hierarchy in his/her value system. Unless a very conscious decision is made to do things differently this time.
For example, again: if a person with business values in his top 5 has to choose between spending $500 on advertising or on buying new curtains or carpet for in his house, the choice is relatively easy! So too for his wife (who doesn't have business high in her values list!
In relation to our value system, we are perfect creators. If we value our comfort zone more than we do getting OUT of it, we will do just that: stay in our comfort zone! Nothing wrong with that, but the results may not always be the ones we want!
There is a simple solution -and The Secret does not talk about that! Change your values hierarchy, and start living accordingly. Again, we often do that without thinking about it! A person with drinking, eating and partying high in the values hierarchy will promptly change his life when he is confronted with a severe, drinking related illness! And when we seriously had enough of some aspects in our life, we can suddenly change everything around to reflect a new values hierarchy.
There is a science to changing your values, and that science is absolutely teachable and learnable. Heck, it was the same science that assisted me to let go of my life as a lawyer, and start all over as a coach in a different country!
Your personality type plays a big part in assessing your current values and changing them, if that is what you desire. Dreamtime Personalities is a great tool to use in that respect! If you would like to make a start, look at this Landmarc.
Set a Landmarc:
Firstly, look at current results you have created in your life or business, both positive and negative. Realise in all honesty that you have created these results by your values hierarchy. And if you think some of the results were outside your sphere of influence, then realise in all honesty that you have created the response to these results through your values hierarchy!
Secondly, have a close look at how you would like your results to be. If some of your current achievements aren't the way you want them, ask yourself: what DO I want?
Thirdly, what values would you need to have in that specific area to start creating the results you desire? More business nous? More family time? Looking after your health a bit more?Improving communication skills? Find the values and put them into a hierarchy.
Lastly, start living according to your new values more than you do to your old ones. What will you do differently? What actions are more in line with your new hierarchy?
You may say: it sounds easier than it is! But I assure you: it is as easy as it sounds, perhaps even easier! It's the putting it into practice that may be the challenge, but that is also something I can help you with!
Start living according to your values. You will be valued accordingly!

The Myths About Willpower

How many times have you or others resolved to live more healthy lives only to fail due to lack of willpower? Whether it is losing weight, or stopping smoking, a re-occurring excuse of why people abandon these attempts is because they lack willpower.
The person did not fail - the blame lies squarely on something called willpower. Some people have a lot of it, while others have very little. That is why some succeed while others fail.
Hold on a minute!! Is this really true? Do you really need a ton of willpower to lose weight?
No. You do not.

If you were on a desert island with only coconuts and bananas to eat, would you lose weight? Of course you would. Imagine having no McDonalds round the corner, and no temptations to destroy your good intentions! And guess what? No willpower to lose weight would be required.
In the real world, the successful dieters are those who do not rely on their own willpower to determine whether they succeed or fail. To succeed, you need to believe that willpower does not exist. Forget all about willpower. Remember that the secret of success is to believe in your own abilities.
You will succeed because you know that you can do it.
Tell the world (and his dog) that you are living a more healthy life. Avoid situations where you might be tempted to deviate from your good intentions.
If you find that these cannot be avoided, then stay focused on your goal. Go over the benefits in your head of what you will gain by losing weight. Keep telling yourself that you can do it.
Do not let an inanimate object like a hamburger dictate whether you live healthily or not.

Are All Motives Equal When It Comes To Motivation?

Motivation requires motive, is a nice catchy little phrase, but are all motives equal?
Did you know that motives for change come in two broad categories, moving towards something you want, or away from something you don't?
If you are someone who naturally is naturally goal orientated, then chances are that you have a clear idea of what you want and find setting clear goals and achieving them comes pretty easy to you.
If you are someone who has gotten used to moving away from what you don't want, then chances are that you could easily tell me what you don't want, or what you want to stop doing. But if I ask you what you want, you'll struggle to answer.
"Away from" motivation is very powerful but makes a poor long term motivation strategy for a number of reasons.
How many of these have you experienced?
1. Away from motivation is directionless, if you hate where you are then jumping in any direction might be preferable - 'out of the frying pan and into the fire' could apply perfectly here.
2. Away from motivation is cyclical, meaning that while you're in pain you will be very motivated to move, but once you move away and the pain begins to subside, your motivation will decrease too. A typical example could be losing weight, if you feel fat you may in so much 'pain' that you can stick to that diet. But as your weight drops your motivation drops too and pretty soon 'one cake' won't hurt will it? And the weight starts to creep back etc.
3. Away from motivation can move you towards what you don't want! You will tend to move towards what you think about, so setting an away from goal means you have to think about what you don't want, in order to avoid it. This means that you will be unconsciously focusing on and moving towards what you don't want! Bad move!
4. Away from motivation feels bad! I don't know about you, but personally I prefer to feel good most of the time.
All of the above is true but away from motivation is a very powerful force in driving human behaviour, most people will act much sooner to avoid pain, than they will to get something they want. My guess is it is so powerful because for most of human history it kept us out of the fang filled mouths of predators!

People who know me will understand why I prefer to make change easy; this means I'm all in favour of using your natural habits to initiate change, and if you've been used to away from motivation it can create a great short term strategy for getting you to take action.
So how can away from motivation be used?
Well if you are struggling to make some change then you could harness the power of the negative emotions you are experiencing.
Gets some leverage on yourself, just what is not taking this action, breaking this old habit, or avoiding those conversations costing you, and what will it cost you in future?
While frustration, anger, disgust etc. are not great emotions to experience, if you are experiencing them you can use them to fuel you into taking action!!
Maybe it's time stop wallowing in your emotions and use them to your advantage?
When you have got the cost out in the open and have decided that you are not going to pay it anymore!!
List out 20 actions you could take to begin to change this, if you can't think of 20 get a friend to help! Remember change is much easier with the support of other people. Keep going until you get 20! Then pick the top 3 and do them!!
If you want an even bigger kick in the pants, set up some cost for what would happen if you don't take the action! And get someone to hold you accountable.
Once you're moving and begin to see progress you can begin to set some towards goals and you'll be on your way!
Final thoughts for today on 'away from' motivation
1. Recognize that it is best used as a short term tool to get you to take action, once you are taking action and moving forwards it's best to begin to aim for some clear goals. Once you are moving these goals will give you something to focus on and keep you moving forwards. I like to think of this like a plane taking off an aircraft carrier. The catapult and engine gives the plane a tremendous push to get it in the air, but without wings it will crash into the sea. But combining the catapult, engine and wings (goals) the plane soars!!
2. If you find it difficult to describe and set goals to move towards, begin by writing down everything you don't want and then for each write what I would prefer is... Working at this exercise will allow you to gently transfer your attention as you begin to focus on what you do want.
